Bruce Harmon

Greetings, I am part of the Condensed Matter Physics Group of the Physics Department at Iowa State University and Ames Laboratory (a DOE facility). Our group's interest focuses on the use of first principles total energy calculations to study electron-phonon interactions, superconductivity, martensitic phase transformations, and non-linear or anharmonic phenomena. Electronic and magnetic properties of rare earth metals and compounds including mixed valent and heavy fermion materials. Nuclear ordering in metals at ultralow temperatures. Magneto-optical properties of materials. Spin dynamics.
